Products and Services

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is about using different treatments and techniques to restore movement in the body. Physiotherapy uses physical approaches to strengthen and restore physical, physiological and social well-being. All of our physiotherapists are registered with the Health Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice so you know you’re in good hands.
Podiatry
Podiatry (also known as chiropody) is the diagnosis and treatment by podiatrists (chiropodists) of diseases and other disorders of the feet. Podiatrists are highly skilled health professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections.
Neurophysiotherapy
Neurophysiotherapy is a treatment available to help sufferers of neurological diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease as well as those recovering from a stroke. It can also benefit neurologically-impaired patients including those who may have had a head injury. A neurological problem can often have a serious impact on a person’s movement, sensation, balance and co-ordination. The aim of treatment at the neurophysiotherapy clinic is to help each person regain as many of these abilities as possible.
Sports Therapy
Sports Therapy is an important aspect of healthcare which focuses primarily on the prevention and rehabilitation of injury, aiming to return individuals to full functional fitness.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is the treatment of a wide range of conditions in a heated pool environment. The warmth of the water relaxes the muscles, buoyancy assists or resists movement and the weightlessness decreases pain and stress on the joints. LBhealthcare has one of the largest ozone hydrotherapy pools in the UK, giving us great scope and flexibility to treat many conditions. The pool is available to clients for over 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday for hydrotherapy. It is heated to over 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees Celsius) and contains a jacuzzi.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest recorded forms of medicine dating back as far as 1000BC and offered by physiotherapists at LBhealthcare. Research shows that acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce natural pain relieving chemicals – endorphins. These help the body to heal itself while offering pain relief.
Pregnancy/baby scans
The ultrasound service is provided by State Registered Specialist Sonographers with extensive years experience in both the private and public sector. We have established strong links with the local GP and Midwife service and undertake some work for local PCT’s. A comprehensive range of ultrasound scans are offered including the amazing 4D Baby Bonding.

Craniosacral therapy for babies and children
Babies and young children frequently show signs of distress or pain for which it is difficult to identify the cause. This may be the time when Craniosacral Therapy can help. For young babies there is often residual trauma from the experience of birth where the bones of the head come through the birth canal. The cranium is designed to pass through the birth canal intact and normalise within a few days but the molding mechanics can be overwhelmed by the assistance of forceps or ventouse. An abnormally long duration of compression in the birth canal, drugs, fear or even a fast birth can be problematic too for both Mum and baby and of course elective or emergency Caesarean sections may cause subsequent difficulties. Babies who find it hard to settle or suckle may be suffering from shock in their system and this can make them hyper-vigilant. It is difficult for them to trust that their world is safe, especially if they had to be separated from their mothers at birth and their nervous systems become programmed to be more in ‘flight or fight’ mode, affecting numerous systems within the body. With very gentle touch, the Craniosacral practitioner pays attention to the subtle rhythms at the core of the body and the membranes and fluids surrounding the spinal cord and brain. Treatment is often given while the baby is suckling or being held by the parent. Craniosacral Therapy focuses on the expression of health within the body to heal itself rather than specific diseases and there is no manipulation. Problems that often respond well include: o difficult or assisted birth o breast feeding and suckling problems o sleep disturbance o colic and digestive upsets o bonding difficulties o excessive crying o restlessness o failure to thrive At LBhealthcare we are fortunate to have a Craniosacral Practitioner.
