What is Project WORD?
Project WORD is a low cost, highly effective marketing solution for businesses to promote their product/services. Originally started as a viral marketing campaign allowing businesses to define keywords related to their business, Project WORD has evolved and now offers businesses more opportunities to gain the exposure they need.
New features now include News, Special Offers, Image Gallery and Homepage Exposure.
How do I find businesses on Project WORD?
You can find businesses through the search bar allocated at the top of every page in Project WORD. Simply enter the typed of product or service you are looking for and the area you are located.
Another option for users is to "Browse Directory". This will offer you the chance to filter results by categories, with sub categories to refine results or search by locations.
Do I have to pay to use Project WORD?
Project WORD offers its services to users completely free of charge.
What sort of information can I find on Project WORD?
Information that can primarily be found on Project WORD is listed businesses contact and relative information such as location on the map. Also details on Products/services and latest news features, updated by the business.
Businesses however, have the option to upgrade their listing providing the user with additional information such as and Special Offers the business may have, an Image Gallery.
In what order do the results appear?
In terms of search results, businesses will appear higher on the returned search with relation to how many keywords businesses have defined and also the level of completion of their profile on Project WORD
Can I use Project WORD to find special offers or discount vouchers for local businesses?
Businesses that have opted for a premium package with Project WORD have the option to notify users of special offers and discount vouchers. This information will be visible on the businesses profiles that are returned on your search results. However, we cannot guarantee that all businesses will choose this option or have promotions at any given time.
Project WORD, also holds no responsibility for promotions set by businesses.
Do businesses pay to advertise on Project WORD?
Project WORD offers an initial and basic account for businesses free of charge. There is the option to upgrade accounts for a low cost fee per month thereafter. Upgraded accounts, offer further features and provides users with additional information, i.e. Special Offers.
What are keywords?
"The words or phrases used in a Web Page that will be noticed and indexed by Search Engines, and guide people to your web site when they type in those words or phrases at the Search Engine."
How do I add photos to my business listing?
Images can be uploaded to the Image Gallery, simply by browsing for images of your choice and uploaded. All images will be verified by Project WORD to ensure content is appropriate.
This feature however is not available to those signed up with the "free" listing.
What is my user ID and/or password?
When signing up to Project WORD businesses may choose a username and password of your choice and once registered, you will receive a confirmation email.
What do I do if I forget my username/or password?
Simply click "forgot password" situated below the login tool bar. You will be asked to enter you email address and you will shortly receive an email from Project WORD reminding you of your log in details.
How do I add my business to Project WORD?
Adding your business to the directory could not be simpler. Navigate to "Get Listed" in the top tool bar. Here you will be presented with two options, a free listing or a premium listing.
Choose which you think will best suit you and click "sign up". Here you will enter a chosen username and password. This will create an account for you to then build your profile. You can access your account via "My Account", in the top tool bar, and enter login details to access and monitor your account with Project WORD.
I have added my business to Project WORD - why can't I find it? Can my business be listed more than once?
Business cannot list more than once, however you can have multiple profiles from one account.
What do I do if my business appears under the wrong category?
If you should find that an error has been made or you wish to change your businesses category listing login to your account and this information can be edited under "General information". Generally, all business information can be edited in "My Account", should you face further problems, the Project WORD team will be happy to assist you and will correct issues promptly.
Can I change the location of my business on the map?
Locations editing can also be undertaken in "My Account" under "General Information" by editing your address.
How do I upgrade my account to Premium?
All accounts can be upgraded via logging into your account. Here you will find a navigation bar "Upgrade Account".
Can I downgrade my account from Premium to Free?
Premium accounts can be cancelled via your PayPal account. Project WORD does not tie users into any contracts and all accounts can be cancelled at any point. Users are welcome to then simply register with our free account.
How do I add special offers or coupons to my listing?
This service is part of the Premium package. You can add special offers by logging into your account, "My Profile" and here you can add "Special Offers". Here you add the relevant title and details as well as the option of uploading an image.
Can I link my Social networking sites i.e. Facebook and Twitter accounts to my Project WORD listing?
You can add details of Social networking sites by logging into your account, "My Profile" and inserting the URL into the boxes provided in "Contact Information".
Will you use my email address for marketing purposes?
Project WORD will never pass your email on to third parties and endeavors to protect all businesses information and takes improper use of email addresses very seriously. However, from time to time, Project WORD would like to keep businesses updated with new information and features that are relative to you, so that you are aware of any information that could potentially optimise your website.
