Stratford Town Walk is back up and walking - and to prove it The Mayor, Councillor Tony Jackson and The Mayoress Mandy Jackson were on hand to help get it under way. Over 18 years ago, on a sunny day in June, Stratford Town Walk stepped out on its first DAILY guided walk - showing visitors from all over the world around this magical town. But then - in March 2020 Covid-19 slammed on the brakes and the walks stopped - temporarily. And so on a very sunny Sunday on 2 August 2020, the Mayor and Mayoress arrived at the Swan Fountain on Waterside and officially launched Stratford Town Walk's new socially distanced walks. Gaily vibrant market stalls and musicians provided a fitting backdrop. Together with a lovely family from Somerset, the Mayor and Mayoress headed off with their guide Barbara, to experience a fascinating, and entertaining stroll to discover Stratford’s history, fascinating relationship with William Shakespeare and all the town has to offer. The Mayor said "It was lovely to meet Helen and John and to be there for the re-opening of the Stratford Town Walk. It is wonderful to see the tourists slowly returning to the town and it was a pleasure to meet and welcome the family group from Somerset who had booked the walk.
