Bareboat Yacht Charter is just like renting a car. You sail the boat yourself. You are the skipper and therefore you can go wherever you wish, at your own pace, no fixed itineray, just go where the wind, or fancy, takes you. Bareboat Charters run from Saturday to Saturday (usually), with embarkation being around 5pm and disembarkation around 8am. - 9am, in most cases you are expected to return the yacht the evening before you depart. OceanBLUE Yachts Ltd. offer a large range of exclusive, privatley owned, yachts available for charter in the Mediterranean, Adriatiic, and now the Caribbean too. Depending upon the size, the yachts are either crewed just by a captain and hostess/cook,, or they are operated by a full compliment of crew - Captain, Engineer, Deck hand, Professional Chef, steward, stewardess etc. etc. , all paid for by the owner. Mostly everything is customised. And the bigger & more expensive the charter is, the more custom stuff, & toys you get!

A Skippered Yacht Charter, is usually a Bareboat Charter with the addition of  professional, local, Skipper, who takes complete responsibility for the safety of the yacht, navigation, and all aspects of the sailing & mooring. Also some Sailboats, Catamarans & Luxury Motoryachts, too  large to be available for Bareboat charter, but a little cramped for a full compliment of crew, are often only available with a full time Skipper, with the option of hiring a hostess/cook/chef if space allows.
